Responsibilities for half-time role:

  • Draft emails that accompany videos to go out to statewide audiences, and to go to the ShareCorps audience

  • Help run ShareCorps, a project to send MoveOn members our best video content over email — managing user flows and writing email content.

  • Project-manage surveys of MoveOn members about video and social media usage, collaborating with the Deputy Washington Director.

  • Conduct regular basic analysis of our video performance data, and package the key findings up to share with video lab members, MoveOn, staff, and partner organizations.

  • Run tests to optimize share text, thumbnails, time-of-day posting, and other aspects of our Video Lab videos.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications for half-time role:

  • At least two years experience in digital campaigning, online marketing, and/or social media content production and management.

  • At least one year of experience in drafting email advocacy content.

  • At least two years of experience in political campaigning, including working for at least one US election campaign.

  • Strong grasp of basic data management and statistical concepts such as statistical significance and relational database structure.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs

  • Basic product management skills — i.e., understanding how to think through and optimize user flows.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced virtual office environment.

The half-time role can be based anywhere in the United States.

FULL-TIME ROLE

The full-time version of this role adds an additional set of responsibilities, working in close concert with MoveOn’s Washington Director:

  • Drafting, revising, and polishing online fundraising emails.

  • Associate-producing Video Lab videos — e.g., contacting and preparing potential interviewees; identifying promising concepts for videos by scouring social media and the news; and drafting, revising, and polishing scripts for Video Lab videos

Additional qualifications for the full-time role:

  • Strong storytelling abilities.

  • Experience writing email fundraisers.

  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and packaging content that progressive activists find shareable.

The full-time role must be based in Washington, DC. MoveOn will pay for round-trip flights for candidates not currently located in DC who are considering relocating in order to take this role.
