Description:
Targeted Incumbent IL State Senate Campaign is seeking a full-time Field Director to help plan and execute a staff-led field program that includes both volunteer organizing and paid canvassing elements. The Field Director will be responsible for executing a robust district-wide field program to defend a targeted Illinois State Senate district. They will be tasked with successfully implementing processes to run a large volunteer-based field organizing program as well as smaller paid canvass programs, and they will report to the Campaign Manager.
Responsibilities:
● Sending out detailed daily priority lists to assigned staff with goals, metrics, and assignments for each day.
● Ensuring that daily, weekly and long-term goals are met and exceeded consistently.
● Conducting extensive coaching and development with staff on best practices for field organizing as well as paid canvass recruiting and training.
● Ensuring all data is reported accurately and in a timely manner.
● Monitoring metrics within each assigned region, including knocks per shift, flake rate, completion rate and confirmation rate, as well as implementing rigorous systems to meet assigned goals for these metrics.
● Assisting with hiring, onboarding and training.
● Coordinating field operations with the those of other Democratic campaigns across the district.
Qualifications:
● Two to three cycles of experience with at least one cycle of experience managing paid staff.
● Extensive knowledge of Votebuilder.
● Extensive knowledge with Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
● Ability to work long, irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment.
● Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects.
● Strong team management and training skills.
● Ability to work independently and in team settings.
