The Iowa Senate Majority Fund is looking for District Coordinators ready and eager to take a leadership role in targeted State Senate districts across the state. Democrats currently hold a 26-24 majority in the Iowa Senate, providing you with a unique opportunity to stand up and make a difference while working to protect and expand our State Senate majority this November.


Working with the Majority Fund, you will have the chance to work with one of the premier state legislative campaign programs in the country, one that has delivered record majorities in the state legislature. As a District Coordinator, you will have unique access to the campaign staff, candidates, and Democratic Party officials. You will also receive trainings from seasoned and effective campaigners from across the nation.


District Coordinators will report to the Caucus Field Director and will work collaboratively alongside candidates as well as Field, Finance, and Communications staff to execute a winning campaign plans.


Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, management of, and participation in all campaign field efforts, including volunteer phone banks, neighborhood canvasses, and volunteer recruitment.
  • Identifying, recruiting, and developing volunteer leaders to organize voter outreach throughout your district.
  • Building strong relationships with local leaders, allied organizations, and key stakeholders in your region.
  • Representing the campaign at community events and meetings.
  • Timely and accurate data entry and metrics reporting.
  • Assisting candidates with campaign finance and communications programs as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Self-motivation and the ability to anticipate and prevent problems
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines required
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to relocate
  • Ability to work long and nontraditional hours
  • Commitment to electing Democrats in the state of Iowa
