[JOB] Regional Field Director (OH)

SUMMARY:
NextGen Climate is seeking detail-oriented and highly motivated Regional Field Directors (RFDs) to join our team in Ohio through the 2016 General Election. RFDs will be responsible for managing a team of Field Organizers (FOs) and Campus Fellows executing voter registration / Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts on college campuses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively manage and train a team of Field Organizers working with campus fellows and volunteers on local campuses
- Executing the state field plan in your region
- Under direction of the State Youth Vote Director, train staff on volunteer management and recruitment, voter registration, voter database and online organizing tools, and GOTV efforts
- Manage the regional calendar of election activities in your turf
- Implement systems of accountability to ensure that all goals and deadlines are consistently met
- Work with the Operations Staff on maintaining an office and providing your team with the tools and materials they need to accomplish goals set forth in the Field Plan
- Identify local earned media opportunities and work with the Communications Team on executing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- One to two cycles of campaign experience, preferably with at least one as a field organizer
- Strong leadership skills and a commitment to developing a strong and supportive team culture
- Personal experience meeting goals and holding others accountable
- Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to work extremely long hours, including nights and weekends, in a fast paced environment
- Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving priorities and manage several tasks simultaneously
- Act with high integrity and character
- Experience with VAN and other campaign technology
- Previous climate, energy or environmental issue organizing experience a plus
