Campaign for 100% renewable energy on college campuses this fall.


Organizers will have opportunities to work with 360 Campaign Consulting on exciting campaigns into 2017 and beyond.


Organizations:

360 Campaign Consulting is a political consulting firm specializing in field. We partner with good groups doing great things. We are excited to be working with The Climate Reality Project this fall on an ambitious and historic campaign to get targeted universities to commit to use 100% renewable electricity.

The Climate Reality Project is the nonprofit organization founded by former Vice President Al Gore. Their mission is to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every level of society.


General Overview: A Climate Campaign Organizer will recruit, train, and work with a team of volunteers on a targeted college campus on behalf of The Climate Reality Project Campus Corps. You will work with your team to run the 100% Committed campaign with the goal of having the college or university commit to run on 100% renewable electricity by 2030. In addition, you and your volunteers will work on behalf of Climate Reality Action Fund to run a focused, non-partisan get-out-the-vote campaign in the weeks leading up to the November election.

Locations include: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Recruiting volunteers;
  • Training students;
  • Managing student volunteers to implement designated campaign tactics;
  • Developing the infrastructure for The Climate Reality Project Campus Corps Chapter to be active into 2017;
  • Tracking and reporting campaign metrics and narratives; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in field and volunteer organizing.
  • Campus organizing experience preferred.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Excitement for working with college students.
  • Passion for wanting to help solve the climate crisis.
  • Ability to move to an assigned campus within one of the target states for Fall 2016.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
