automatic template updates and paramaterized seed jobs

i am using the 'build with parameters' plugin w/ my seed template so i can dynamically specify folder/project name, label and git repository name each time i create a project.

how does this work in terms of updating existing jobs that have already been created? are the parameters that were specified at the time of the build reused or does this functionality not work in that case?

  also - does this functionality require the use of scm polling or some other trigger to cause the auto-update to fire?
