Hello,

I have downloaded Jenkins and run 'java -jar jenkins.war'

Opened localhost:8080 and tried to add a test build.

The add step button does not do anything. No input boxes were shown. I
can see an 'error on page' on ie status.

version : 1.413
Any idea.

Perhaps try and disable Csfr protection in the main Jenkins config if
it's enabled (just a guess based on the language in the exception)

Richard.

I looked int he config.xml under the .jenkins folder and I could not
find anything matching to csfr protection.

How about via the Manage Jenkins -> Configure System in the UI? (Prevent Cross Site Request Forgery exploits just above Global Properties section for me)

It is disabled. I installed Hudson and it is working fine in Hudson,
But with jenkins I am not able to add new steps. It shows the existing
build steps that I created using Hudson though.
