Problems with external SMTP

Hello

I have the following problem when i try to use an external SMTP server with jenkins.

Client does not have permissions to send as this sender

I asked the provider for all informations i need, like name of SMTP server, or what user to use etc.
Is this a problem with my provider or a problem with jenkins.

Have  you configured Jenkins with the details of your SMTP server? From the web interface, see Manage Jenkins -> Configure System, down the bottom is a section “E-mail Notification” – make sure you click on “Advanced”, fill in the details. Also click on the help icon for the first field “SMTP server” and read that.

 

Additionally, there is also a section above that, called “Jenkins Location”, and you need to fill in the “System Admin e-mail address”, which is the address of the email “sender”. Your SMTP server might validate that.
