Dear All,

I've installed Apache Solr Autocomplete module for Drupal into my Islandora installation, but it hasn't worked at all.

Is there any other module, being used for jQuery Autocomplete options in Simple Islandora Search block? My searches has not end with useful information.

Best,
Orkut

Hi Orkut,

Islandora doesn't use the Apache Solr Integration module, so it's not surprising that the autocomplete add-on doesn't work.

I don't know how to enable autocomplete in the Islandora Simple Search block, but perhaps someone else has gotten that to work and can suggest a way forward for you.

Dear Mark,

Thanks for kind explanation. Right now, I'm checking the files of Apache Solr Autocomplete module and I noticed the lines I paste below:

"Add-on module to Apache Solr Search Integration that adds simple autocomplete functionality. It enforces node access, meaning that all suggestions are only from nodes that the user actually has access to."

I'm going to check for other solutions as well.

Best,
Orkut

Hi Orkut,

It's counterintuitive, but Islandora objects are not nodes, so Drupal modules that manage or interact with nodes will likely not work on them the way you expect.

Orkut,

Although this won't solve your problem, I would like to add that the next version of Islandora, CLAW, uses Drupal nodes to address scenarios such as this.  It's in early alpha stages now, but it's something to keep in mind for later.
