Hi all,

We're considering setting up our Islandora install on Pantheon. I had a brief chat with Pantheon support this morning where they indicated that they don't support Islandora (makes sense, they specifically state that third party platforms that are not WordPress, Drupal are not covered in their support). The CS rep made it sound like the way they run routine updates on Drupal would most likely break the Islandora install.

Before I abandon this idea completely I wanted to check here to see if anyone has set-up Islandora on Pantheon and, if so, what has your experience been? If you are not on Pantheon, what hosting platform are you on?

Hi,

Never used Pantheon, but I imagine if it's any sort of hosting service that's locked down or tuned for something else then Islandora would be problematic.  There's just so much going on, it's not as simple as a single software like Drupal.

There are several reputable vendors that offer hosting services specifically for Islandora.  Here's a list if you're interested: https://islandora.ca/service-companies.

Thanks, Danny,

That list of Islandora specific providers is really helpful. Thanks.
