All,

We are attempting to configure 2 islandora instances (using drupal multi-site) and connect to a single Fedora instance.  We have all of the islandora modules installed in sites/all/modules .  The default site works well.  Next we setup the multisite and activate islandora/islandora basic collections.  Once we went into the islandora/configuration and changed the root collection and saved it everything appeared to be ok but when attempting to access the home page of the root collection it was unable to locate the collection.  Did we miss a step?  The drupal filter seems to be able t connect to both instances.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dale:

First, have you edited the second site's settings.php file with the mySQL settings ($databases array) and the $base_url?

Thanks.

Yes,  I have the new settings.php in sites/site2. The second site seems to be ok as far as drupal but not islandora.

Dale:

What happens when you add "/islandora/repository" after the site name in the URL?

Does it seem to connect to fedora, but just not to the right collection?

Hi Dale,

Another option is to use the ICG's "drush sitespinner" tool to spin up a new Drupal multi-site. It copies all the relevant parts of a predefined "template" site: file directory, symlink, mysql database. This allows you to maintain one live, canonical template site (we call ours: "templatesite") from which all new sites will be based.

The code, documentation and a working sample file (just change the clearly labeled configuration variables) can be found here:
