                               POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW POSITION

The Healthy Development and Resiliency Study at The Saban Research Institute in the Program of Developmental Neuroscience and Developmental Neurogenetics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a longitudinal research project, led by Dr. Pat Levitt, investigating novel early life biomarkers of risk and resilience of brain and behavioral development. Methodologies include neurophysiology (EEG), attention metrics (eye tracking), measures of metabolic homeostasis, and environmental risk (low income, stress exposure, maternal psychopathology, housing instability) across the first few years of life.

The research fellow will participate in all levels of the research investigation, including data collection, data processing, established and innovative data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Some training and supervision of research assistants will be required. Professional development activities, including individual development plans, assistance with fellowship application, science communication skills and opportunities for academic growth are provided by the laboratory and institution.

Candidates are expected to have excellent interpersonal skills as well as familiarity with data programming, capture, and analysis software such as E-Prime, SR Research Experiment Builder, Eyelink DataViewer, and NetStation. Proficiency in MatLab or another programming language preferred.

Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. in experimental, developmental or cognitive psychology, neuroscience, or cognitive neuroscience. Preferred applicants will have expertise in advanced signal processing.Experience conducting research with children and diverse populations is strongly preferred. English and Spanish language proficiency would be an advantageous.

This position is open for an immediate start date. A minimum 2-year commitment is preferred. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
