CLINICAL NEUROSCIENCE POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP:
Florida International University

The Child Anxiety and Phobia Program (CAPP<http://capp.fiu.edu/>) in Florida International University’s Center for Children and Families (CCF)<https://ccf.fiu.edu/> and Department of Psychology<https://psychology.fiu.edu/> is seeking a talented postdoctoral scholar with excellent writing and analytic skills, interested in gaining training and publishing skills while collaborating on an exciting new NIMH-funded joint clinical neuroscience study between FIU and Yale University. Located within an international, multicultural urban setting, the Center for Children and Families, a Preeminent Program at FIU and the Department of Psychology, ranked 9th in the country for research funding, offers a stimulating research environment full of collaborative and networking opportunities.

The CAPP conducts research relating to the causes, mechanisms, and treatment of anxiety disorders in pediatric populations. The current project involves evaluating behavioral and neural changes as a result of attention bias modification treatment in adolescents with social anxiety. The position involves implementing high-density EEG (mainly processing and analysis), eye-tracking, managing data collection and preparing manuscripts. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in these areas. Experience with MATLAB is preferred, but not required. The candidate will be mentored in leading independent research projects including grant applications and publishing with a highly productive research team. The close partnership and integration between the FIU and Yale sites allows for unique opportunities for professional development and interdisciplinary training. The breadth of training experiences will be useful for a variety of academic career paths. The applicant must have a PhD in Psychology (Developmental, Clinical, or Social Psychology, for instance), Neuroscience, or related field by the time the position begins (although strong applicants who are ABD, but close to defense may be considered).  The position is currently open and the initial position duration is for at least 2 years. Please contact Dr. Jeremy Pettit at jpe...@fiu.edu<mailto:jpe...@fiu.edu> and Bethany Reeb-Sutherland at besu...@fiu.edu<mailto:besu...@fiu.edu> and include a CV and names of references in the cover letter.
