Cognitive Neural Systems Lab, University College Dublin, Ireland

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in the lab of Simon Kelly (https://cogneusys.com/) to study the neural mechanisms of sensorimotor decision making. This project, funded by Science Foundation Ireland, employs a range of methods including psychophysics, computational modelling, non-invasive electrophysiology of human brain and muscle, analyses of existing single-cell neurophysiological data, and functional imaging. Candidates should have prior experience and strong expertise in at least 1-2 of these methods, as well as strong analytic and programming skills. Candidates must also be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills.

The Cognitive Neural Systems Lab, based in University College Dublin, has strong collaborative links to cognitive and clinical neuroscience research groups both locally (e.g. Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience, especially the lab of Redmond O'Connell) and internationally (e.g. City College, Columbia University and the Child Mind Institute in New York). The successful applicant will have ample opportunities for wider collaborations and the learning of new skills.

Interested candidates should submit a brief research statement and CV including publications through the UCD job vacancies site (http://www.ucd.ie/hr/jobvacancies/ - search for keyword 'kelly' or job reference 011412). Informal inquiries can be directed to Simon (simon...@ucd.ie). Candidates should explain in their statement how their own research interests fit with those of the Kelly lab. The deadline for submitting applications is May 10th 2019, and shortlisting and interviews will take place shortly after that.
