Widex external research laboratory ORCA Europe has a vacancy for a
skilled researcher. The group works with test method development
(currently with a particular focus on real-life hearing-aid benefit) and
undertakes research projects in the areas of hearing-aid performance and
auditory ecology. Examples of recent research can be found at

*Job Description*
Our new colleague will be part of a research team focusing on hearing
solutions for people with hearing impairment, and will conduct applied
hearing research and communicate the results. Key responsibilities:


* Design research projects (clinical trials and other experiments)
* Analyze data using statistics and appropriate visualization methods
* Write reports and articles, for both scientific and popular
scientific journals
* Present at research conferences, nationally and internationally


*Qualifications*
We welcome applications from candidates with a PhD in audiology, hearing
science, engineering, human sciences or a related discipline. It will be
advantageous to have post-doctoral experience managing research studies
including human test participants.

It is vital that the applicant is very strong in research design and
statistics and has excellent command of English (both written and
spoken). A willingness to learn Swedish is a requirement. Good social
skills are necessary. The applicant needs to have a good ability to work
both independently and as a part of a team. A practical knack and
knowledge in sound engineering and/or hearing-aid fitting is beneficial.
Also, programming skills (matlab, python or similar) are beneficial.
