Hi,

Is Iron Foundry still alive?

this is the first time I am approaching Iron Foundry. In the past I have been worked with CF installed locally

I am just wondering if you are planning to integrate (in the near future) CF with IronFoundry to have just one solution.

Is there any place where I can download a VM with all installed in it?

thank you and regards

Francesco

Yes, the project is still alive.

Our development efforts have shifted towards supporting Windows in the next-generation CloudFoundry runtime (i.e. Diego).

You can read more about that here

and here

If you want to run Windows applications on the current Cloud Foundry architecture, then IronFoundry works well and your applications should be compatible with the  next CF architecture when it is released.

If you deploy IronFoundry alongside CF, then yes you can deploy .NET applications today.

In the next-generation CF, which is still a work in progress, you will be able to run .NET applications natively.  It will still require some additional setup in your CF environment because the CF deployment system (BOSH) does not support Windows.  But it will be considerably easier to deploy a Windows system and add it to your CF environment.

Hello Francesco,

I did see that you had some issues with signing up yesterday for Iron Foundry. We believe that we have fixed the issue. If you’d like to deploy a .NET application to our Iron Foundry beta site please attempt the sign up process again.

If you’d like to run your own Iron Foundry in conjunction with a Cloud Foundry platform deployment then you can find information on how to do so here:

As Brannon pointed out, we are focused on extracting some of the great capabilities out of Iron Foundry so that they can be leveraged by the Diego Windows team. It should be an evolution going from the current Iron Foundry to Diego in most respects.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you Chris, I will make some test on "your" Iron Foundry first of all... I have just requested a free account and it seems to work fine. I've just wait for the confirmation...

I will try to integrate Iron with our local Cloud Foundry as well.

I will let you know soon...

thank you and regards
Francesco
