Almost positive I fried my ioio

I have a ioio and a mc33926 dual motor driver connected and may have connected a wire into Vin instead of VDD while working on my high school project thus frying the board(s). What is the recommended course of action?

Disconnect everything and assess the damage by testing each component separately?
