Dear colleagues,
As you may know, the CCCC Intellectual Property Caucus hosts its public, open, annual business meeting at CCCC. This year’s meeting is Wednesday, April 6, from 2:00–5:30 p.m.
Along with discussing the caucus’ work, identifying priorities, and creating action items, we’re delighted to be joined this year by John Willinsky.
Willinsky is the Khosla Family Professor of Education and Director of the Program in Science, Technology, and Society at Stanford University. He’s also a Professor of Publishing Studies at Simon Fraser University and the Director of the Public Knowledge Project (https://pkp.sfu.ca/).
At the CCCC-IP Caucus meeting, Willinsky will speak on “The Thing about Intellectual Property Worth Teaching.” His talk will provide perspective on what needs to be taught and what matters most about intellectual property today. The talk is anchored by a recently completed book-length history of learning’s influence on intellectual property and draws from his nearly two decades of work with the Public Knowledge Project.
Please join us the afternoon of Wednesday, April 6, and please do also extend this information and invite with interested colleagues and others! We’re looking forward to seeing you all in Houston in April!
Sincerely,
Jim Purdy, Senior Chair, CCCC-IP Caucus
Dànielle DeVoss, Junior Chair, CCCC-IP Caucus
