Dear all,

Thank you all for a wonderful CCCC! We had a productive business meeting. Please find attached the report on the business meeting that I sent to NCTE.

Best wishes for the end of the term and summer,

Jim

Hello, all!

Jessica Reyman and I just met to talk about goals and priorities for the CCCC-IP Caucus for the coming year.

We have two time-sensitive items to discuss:

First is the workshop proposal we're developing. Again, you can access it at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wmSQjrkt7iQQthjP4Q0_lc4d25-i3PmhKczp5fKzegs/edit and share ideas.

Second is the proposal for the annual business meeting. In it, we do need to list the roundtable topics and facilitators. This year's were:
Roundtable 1: Legal and Legislative Developments
Discussion leaders: Kim Gainer, Laurie Cubbison, Jeffrey Galin

Roundtable 2: IP Activism Within and Beyond CCCC/NCTE
Discussion leader: Timothy R. Amidon

Roundtable 3: IP in the Classroom--Pedagogical Approaches
Discussion leaders: Kyle Stedman, Dànielle Nicole DeVoss

Roundtable 4: IP Stories from the Field
Discussion leader: James P. Purdy
Do we want to keep these four topic areas?

Jessica suggested, based on this year's meeting and topics, that we perhaps have a roundtable focused on global IP issues. If so, we'd need a title for that roundtable and a discussion leader.

We have until May 9 to finalize the proposal, but let's aim for sooner rather than later. :)

Thanks!

Danielle

Hi Danielle & Jessica,

I'd like to be a table leader for Roundtable 4: IP Stories from the
Field. (Jim & I are working on that project together).

Best, Karen Lunsford

I'll keep co-leading a pedagogy table, as long as it fits. (Like, should one table be dedicated to strategizing the next steps of the workshop? Or just have a regular old pedagogy table and fold the workshop aftermath into it, if at all?)

Oooo, I love the idea of devoting the roundtable specifically to reviewing and working on next steps from the morning workshop!

Dear Danielle and Jessica,

I'm up for staying on roundtable 4, too, if folks decide they want to keep it.

Sincerely,
Jim

Folks,

I'd be very interested in being a discussion leader for a table on IP global issues, if this is a topic folks would like to pursue.

All the best,
Lynn

Hello, all! Just touching base as we get closer to the CCCC 2017 deadline. If you have other thoughts, comments, etc., please do comment on/within the doc or contact me.

It looks like no one has contributed to the workshop doc -- and that's a huge priority for us at this point. Please access the draft proposal at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wmSQjrkt7iQQthjP4Q0_lc4d25-i3PmhKczp5fKzegs/edit and share ideas.

More info about the business meeting is included below.

Thanks --
