Dear colleagues,

Happy New Year! I received the email below from Linda Adler-Kassner about a grant opportunity for standing group local outreach activities at CCCC this year. As you will see below, groups can request up to $500. If you have ideas for local outreach the CCCC-IP might do at CCCC in Houston this year that might be appropriate for this grant, please let me know.

Remember, too, to let your friends and colleagues know that John Willinsky will be speaking at the annual business meeting on Wednesday, April 6. This is a rare and exciting opportunity and it would be great to have a big crowd! AS CCCC gets closer, I'll provide an email announcement that I'll ask you to push out to relevant listservs, but I welcome other ideas for advertising.

Thank you,

Jim

Dear CCCC Standing Group leaders,

In response to past requests for funding, the CCCC Executive Committee approved a trial grant program for the 2016 CCCC Annual Convention to encourage and support local outreach activities that might be carried out by CCCC Standing Groups. This program will provide up to $500 each to approved Standing Groups proposals.

If your CCCC Standing Group is interested in applying for one of these grants, please submit a statement of interest (up to 500 words) describing the proposed local outreach activity. Include in this proposal: detailed specifics of the activity and the local group that will be supported, a rationale for the activity, an outline of the anticipated expenses related to the activity, logistics for executing the activity (e.g., transportation, materials), and contact information for the individuals leading the activity.

Applications should be emailed to ksu...@ncte.org and are due by Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Linda Adler-Kassner

Program Chair, CCCC 2016
