Erratic slow cursor and connection

I have been using for years on two machine both Win 10/64.  Recently the slave machine is unusable as the cursor draggs across the screen at about 1 cm every 5 seconds.

I uninstalled on both machines - deleted all firewall settings and reinstalled latest version - no improvement.

If I disable Windows firewall on slave it is fine and remains fine even after enabling firewall - but after every restart it reverts to this hopeless delay.

My router has no firewall running.
