Hello ,
I study how to add eyelid on inmoov , for the moment it's only a test with paper and moving by hand for to see if it's possible and i see that it work's  , but the idea is to have eyelid with plastic cover same as notebook scool cover , a very small servo is sufficient i think.
you can see on video what it could give.
If someone already start this study i am very interresting :)

I was inspired by some Animatronic eyes like thisone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF4ci-opxEA or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftHqvWv03g8
I 3d printed the eyelids. But to combine the requirements of a camera in the eye and the eye movements plus the eyelid was too difficult for me.
I hope that you have better luck,

HI :)
my work in progress ,

Here is a video of my prototype it's cardboard but i create 3d parts this weekend.
instead of my finger that will be the position of the servo course XD . There will be no need to reprint Original parts , only 3 small holes will do in the central support of the head :)

Hi Matt,

Very clever, so how many space should there be between skull and eyes ?

Nice. But currently your lids are working together.
So, to wink with one eye is not possible, for example.

So it would be better, to have two independent lids.

Hello :) Here is the result with the printed parts , it works very well, just need some adjustments to complete it all. If there is interference between the eyes and the face it will go a slight dremel shot in the face, 1 mm of clearance are sufficient. I would see later if I can go with a version for two separate eyelids but for the moment I finish this concept :)

Will you be releasing the eyelid STL files?

Sounds good, looking forward for it.
I hope Gael will put your tutorial on InMoov's website so everyone else can see this.

Good job, keep it up.

Hello ,
I have a good news , my eyelid system work without interference , i modify my eyelid parts and now i can close the top of skull ( just use dremel on one point of the top internal skull .
I create tutorial and release STL tomorow .
You can see video with closed skull .

Great upgrade!
It really made me smile, this gives a lot of extra possibilities for expressions!

Thanks :) ,
it's a first development , but now we know is it possible , others surely enhance this concept , I'm happy to make my contribution to the inmoov :D
Gil , of course , it would be nice to correct my mistakes on my tutorial :) many tanks

You could use a seperate arduino mini or other small arduino and let the eyelids move randomly as humans also do. With that, you could use then besides a script, and let it be more autonomous.

Congrats Matt,

Synchronization between eyelids and speech is very good, only speech speed seems to me too fast, but it's my opinion only ...

hi ! this is the code to use eyelid in MRL :

from org.myrobotlab.service import Servo

PaupiereServo = Runtime.start("PaupiereServo","Servo")
PaupiereServo.setMinMax(0, 22)
PaupiereServo.attach(right, PaupiereServoPin)

clock = Runtime.start("clock","Clock")
clock.setInterval(1000)
# define a ticktock method
def ticktock(timedata):
    PaupiereServo.moveTo(0)
    sleep(0.12)
    PaupiereServo.moveTo(22)
#on fait un double clignement ou pas
    if random.randint(0,1)==1:
        sleep(0.2)
        PaupiereServo.moveTo(0)
        sleep(0.12)
        PaupiereServo.moveTo(22)
#on redefini une valeur aleatoire pour le prochain clignement
    clock.setInterval(random.randint(1000,5000))
#create a message routes
clock.addListener("pulse", python.name, "ticktock")
# start the clock
clock.startClock()
