Dear readers,

The highlight of the November 2008 issue of Pragati is a long interview with Jaswant Singh, senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. Mr Singh not only answers the questions we posed but in turn, poses some profound questions for you to think about. (You'll be able to listen/download the audio from November 17th)

Among the issues he mentions is how the situation in Sri Lanka is reminiscent of the mid-1980s, with the LTTE close to being militarily defeated by the Sri Lankan Army. Our cover story for November is a debate: on whether India should save the Tigers or try to secure its interests, and those of the Sri Lankan Tamils, under a post-LTTE dispensation. Is there a middle path that the Indian government could take?

And there is a lot of interesting and thought-provoking reading in this issue. Read and Share!

best regards

The Pragati team
