 Chandigarh Distillers Plans For Another

      330 KLPD Distillery With 8.25 MW CPP

 

Chandigarh Distillers & Bottlers Ltd.  plans for the expansion of Grain/Molasses based Distillery 330 KLPD to 660 KLPD by adding another New 330 KLPD of Grain based Distillery along with 8.25 MW  Captive Power Plant at Village Banur, Tehsil & District Mohali (SAS Nagar), Punjab.

  

Out of 330 KLPD  (NEW DISTILLERY) – the production of Rectified Spirit will be 24 KLPD and  Extra Natural Alcohol will be 

306 KLPD.

 

[Note :  Capacity of the Existing Distillery Unit is 

330 KLPD – out of this 165 KLPD is grain based and 165KLPD is  molasses based]

 

Capacity :

Distillery                   : 330 KLPD

Captive Power Plant : 8.25 MW

 

Grain based distillery will be operated for 330 days.

 

[Note :  Presently the company has Agro based 8.25 MW & 3.10 MW Captive Power Plant .

In addition to this, the company plans to set up  another  New  8.25 MW Rice husk/Agro waste  captive Power Plant.]

 

Location :  Vill: Banur,Tehsil & District Mohali 

                  (SAS Nagar), Punjab.

                    

As 0n  March 14, 2012 : The Project is  under Planning Stage.

 

The existing total project area is 68.8 ha (170 acres).

 Expansion will be carried in the existing plant premises. Out of 68 ha Land  22 ha  will be developed as Green Belt.

 

IMPORTANT:  And as per the discussion we had last

on 02.03.2012 with Chandigarh Distillers & Bottlers Ltd. the Project is under Panning Stage now.

The company is waiting for Environmental Clerance.

 

The Civil work is likely to start from 

May/ June,2012.

 

The Project   is Scheduled to be  Completed

in  October, 2013 .

The Main Scope of Supply includes:

Fuel            : Rice Husk-Agro Waste/Coal Fired

 

Rice Husk/Agro Waste:  19 Ton/hr will be used as fuel.

Raw Materials : Grains like Bajra, broken rice, Sorghum etc. will be used as raw materials which are easily available from the local market.

 

Process :

Milling, Liquefaction, Saccharification, Fermentation and Distillation will be involved in manufacturing process.

Air Pollution Control Equipment :

Bag Filter / Electrostatic Precipitators/

 

To control the particulate emissions from Husk-Agro Waste/Coal  Fired boiler will be controlled by

Electrostatic Precipitators and to  bring down the particulate matter to less than 50 mg//Nm3 emissions will be dispersed through Stack Height  of  56 Meters .

 

High pressure superheated steam from boiler will pass through a Steam Turbine and at the lower pressure will go to the condenser.

The part of the steam will be extracted from the extraction points provided on the turbine, which will be used for distillery.

 

Acoustic enclosures will be provided to turbines to control noise levels.

 

The condensed steam will return to the steam boiler as condensate and will again be boiled as steam.

 

While passing through the turbine, the high pressure and temperature steam will rotate the turbine rotor and an Electric Alternator mounted on the same shaft.

 

Electric power will be generated by the alternator. This electric power generated will be consumed in house i.e. for running the distillery and utilities like boilers auxiliaries etc. and surplus power will be exported to the state grid.

DG Set : .

Presently the unit has 4 D.G. sets :

1000 KVA, 750 KVA, 500 KVA and  250 KVA.

D.G. sets are installed for stand by arrangement..

Existing power requirement is 4,100 KW and after expansion, total power requirement will be 8,200 KW. xtra power will be sourced from the Punjab Electricity Board.

If required, company may go for another 1000 KVA set.

 

Cooling Tower

Water Treatment Plant:

Sand Filter, Iron Filter, ACF, DM Plant

Tube Settlers etc.

 Pumps Valves, Custom Pipeline Work.

 

Present water requirement  will be 4190 m3/day..

 

That fresh water requirement will be increased from

4190 m3/day to 7160 m3/day.

It will be sourced  from Ghaggar River.

(8.5 km from the site).

 

Fresh water requirement should be restricted upto 10 Kl/Kl of alcohol for Grain based distillery.

 

Effluent Treatment Plant

 

Grain Slops (Spent Wash) will be taken to centrifuge decanters for separation of suspended solids, separated as wet cake and used as cattle feed. 

Thin slops from the decanter centrifuge will be partly recycled back to the process (30-35%) and partly taken to evaporation  plant (Multi Effect Evaporators (MEE) for concentration of remaining solids to form a syrup which will be mixed with wet cake (DWGS) to form as cattle feed.

 

The process condensate will be cooled and collected into a neutralization tank.  After neutralization, process condensate will be recycled into the process and used for green belt development within the plant premises.

 

 No effluent will be discharged outside the premises and “Zero” discharge will be adopted.

Domestic effluent will be treated in septic tank followed by soak pit.

.

 Other Equipments:

Material Handling Equipment : Conveyor, Hydraulic Equipment/Cranes

 DG Set, Air Compressor. DC/VFD Drive, Gear Box, Insulation, Valves, Pipes & Tubes, Cables, Automatic Weighing Machines for Bulk & Liquid Materials. Straight Line Steam Tunnel, Pneumatic Piston Filler, Pressure Filler,Storage Tank, Cooling Tower/ Plant, Air Conditioning Plant, Complete Laboratory Equipments  etc

 

Fire Fighting System shall be as per the TAC Norms and cover all areas where  alcohol is produced, handled and stored.

 

Provision of Foam System for Fire Fighting to control fire from the alcohol storage tank.

 

Green Belt Development plan in 33 % area 

(Approx. 22 ha) and a scheme for Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
