This Opuntia was growing wild on Devgad beach, MH. Pics were clicked in May 2017.

Requested to please ID.

I am unable to get any matching  pictures from the net and arrive at any decision.

"This should be Opuntia elatior Mill.
Spines numerous, usually at least 3 at most areoles
Areoles widely spaced, mostly 4–6 in a diagonal line across the segments; spines 2–12, all terete, reflexed bristles absent

The distribution of  arioles and  arrangement of spines, their length etc., go a long way in  identifying Opuntia species  besides the shape and thickness of the jointed stem segments.  Based on these photographs it is difficult to arrive at a particular ID.   
If you observe all the photographs, in some angle,  It also looks like  O. ficus-indica !
