Lovely picture Dinesh ji.

The Malayalam name seems to be missing the second letter. It is പാല്‍മുതുക്ക്. It means 'milky tuber'.

Yet another name for the same plant that I came across in Malayalam is
അഞ്ചിലത്താളി (Anjilathali).

The term 'താളി' (thali) is a general Malayalam word used to indicate any leaf whose extract can be used as a shampoo.
Anjila means five leaves. So the name would mean 'Five-leaved thali'. Perhaps these leaves are used as a shampoo. I am not sure.

This is regarding kannada name ನೆಲಗುಮ್ಬಳ nelagumbala. The correct form of the word in Kannada is ನೆಲಗುಂಬಳ, though the English transliteration nelagumbala is correct.

I fully agree with your correction. Such spellings I had written when I was referring to one site called Kannada Kasturi, which no longer exists.
