Dear all

This is not Biophytum sensitivum (L.) DC. This is B. reinwardtii. Biophytum sensitivum has pedicels 1/3 of the calyx length.

Thanks Santosh ji for this correction. By the way The plant depicted on Flowers of India as B. sensitivum are much longer even longer than above plant. Please give your opinion about that.

I too have the opinion of  Dr. Santhosh.
In   Biophytum sensitivum, according to Gamble, Stem generally short, sepals usually longer than the capsules, main nerves of the leaflets are numerous, secondary nerves many and pedicels 0.1 inch long.

In  B. reinwardtii  stem generally slender, main nerves of leaflet few, sepals as long as or shorter than capsule and secondary nerves almost none and pedicels 0.2-0.3in long.

Refer Gamble Vol-1 pp-133.

Regards,
Giby

Giby ji
I also fully agree with Santosh ji, but my question was about the identity of B. sensitivum shown at Flowers of India which has clearly very long pedicels:

To me pictures given at Flowers of India  for both the species are same.
I mean, they are of B. reinwardtii
