Algal bloom -Ladakh flora 1

We saw an Algal bloom- experts pl confrm- a rare natural phenomena in the waters 
of extended arm of the Pengang tso lake during our visit to the lake in Ladakh
on 1st August 16.
We were proceeding from Pangong to changthang plateau.

Thanks for the pictures. But since the alga appears microscopic unless I get the microphotographs or the original in preserved (in Lugols Iodine or 4% farmalin) It would not be possible to identify. Jpk

This algal bloom may be caused by some Dinoflagellates such as Karenia brevis or Alexandrium fundyense.
