Although Flora of Pakistan gives both varieties, with differences at Dipsacus inermis var. inermis and Dipsacus inermis var. mitis (D.Don) Y. Nasir.
Flora of China and POWO treats Dipsacus inermis var. mitis (D.Don) Y. Nasir as a syn. of Dipsacus inermis Wallich.
