Bamboo for ID, Auroville, Tamil Nadu NAW-MAR17-07

Kindly identify this bamboo with dark culms about 4-5 cms. in diameter, photographed at the Auroville Botanical Garden, Tamil Nadu in March 2017.

Height of culms about 6 metres.

The photographs are limited but i hope the peculiar color of the culms allow some kind of identification.
