Grassland closer to Moist Deciduous forest

Plant Habit-

Aquatic herb

Height/Length- 


Leaves Type/ Shape/ Size- 

ca. 15cm long;

Inflorescence Type/ Size- 

15 - 20cm long scape

Flowers Size/ Colour/ Calyx/ Bracts- 

white; ca. 2cm across

Fruits Type/ Shape/ Size Seeds- 


Other Information like Fragrance, Pollinator, Uses etc.- 

No fragrance

Please confirm with some Nymphoides species (indicum?), a member of Gentianaceae.

joshi ji and Muthu ji
N. indica has fimbriate corolla lobes. This should be N. hydrophylla (syn: N. cristata)

Dear Joshi ji and Muthu ,
This plant is
Nymphoides hydrophylla (Loureiro) Kuntze from the family Menyanthaceae (Dumortier) Dumortier and not from Gentianaceae. kindly see its description fro the Eflora of china http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=210001333 .

It should be N. hydrophylla (syn: N. cristata).

Thank you very much for the id and nomenclature. Menyanthaceae is a family closer to Gentianaceae.
