Is there a plugin for ID that will allow me to do Word changes changes inside ID cc, like Annotations?

I know Jan at DTP tools has an annual subscription for a bunch of tools. We’d only need the word plugin for a couple months. Likely files will be in ID cc 2015. I emailed Jan but he hasn’t gotten back to me.

I’ve tested one such product a while back. I can’t remember the name. I think it’s Recosoft’s ID2Office. I was hopeful but not blown away. It's at:

http://www.recosoft.com/store/mac/

It’s $199 for the regular version and $249 for the professional version. I didn’t look carefully at the difference.

Thanks Michael.

I’ll likely use it for such a short time maybe someone else knows about one.

Here's another possibility, also untried by me:

That’s the one I used, not the ID2Office, which I had looked at. Thanks for your post.

I tried it several years ago. It worked so-so. I was mainly interested in keeping a live link between the source Word file and the text imported into ID, so that when the author revised the MS (that never happens!), I could keep the link intact and update the text in ID. The trick, of course, if for ID to correctly apply character styles and other typographic controls to the revised text. That proved to be a tad tricky, due to the way the WordFlow feature identified where the character style began and ended when the affected text changed. But that was a while ago, CS6 or so, before CS7 (yes, there was one) before CC, then CC2014 and now CC2015.

Thanks William,

Wordflow is $200 for reg, $300 for pro. What’s the difference?
My bet is that I’d need pro.
InDesign Mag 65 has a review.

I read the InDesign Mag 65 review.

Makes sense if you use your word doc to create and format your IDD file. But I have old existing 15+ IDD files that I’d need to make changes to using new a word doc. The word docs would continually be revised thru a 5 month change cycle.

Currently I’m using Annotations and CS6 but need to upgrade to CC 2015 this year

Would you like for me to look over your files and create an AppleScript which fixes everything (that's possible) so that this (mostly) works?

Finally getting to Wordflow. We’re only going to be using it for the 1st round of 14 docs, then it will be back to Annotations.
Any reason to get Wordflow Pro?
