The eyedropper may create a color based on your RGB settings (and possibly your monitor color space - not your working space). So, if you generally work in CMYK, you may want to measure the colors in RGB, with your monitors profile, then convert to CMYK and then add the new  color in CMYK.

Have you tried clicking on the object with the eyedropper? That should load
the color into the fill "box" of the fill/outline selector. Then you should
be able to click on the new swatch icon to create a swatch outlined that
color.

Hi,
if the object is a simple frame with stroke colour or fill colour, grab the stroke or fill icon of the Swatches panel to the list itself. The colour will be added to your swatches. Sometimes it needs two tries before succeeded…
if the object is a image, use the eyedropper to capture the colour you need, then do the same as above.

Yes Michael, you’re right.

For the need to have CMYK values from a picture, try to use the new Colour theme tool. Double-click it before using it to choose the colour model you need…
This tool finds the 5 most used colours of the selection, but not always the colour you want to pick up.
