While I was reading this news today http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/jan/25/wikileaks-google-staff-emails-us-government I just thought opensource is about creating transparency in what we are doing. Actions like this show that organisations such as Google are far from transparent.

You guys are hosting your mailing lists using Google, considering their track record in holding up their customers rights, do you think that's a good thing to be doing? Maybe we can host these mailing list on hamara infrastructure hosted in india which mean in our own jurisdiction of laws.

Comments welcome.

beep we lost it long time back ago :-) , personally i  advocate and teach  people who want to learn how to protect themselves through cryptoparties etc.. , again this is one freedom has to be left at the user discretion.

talking about mailing lists we have failed miserable in past on many mailing lists  in trying to make what you are proposing . i consider less evil as ok than all things are evil , like i have no issues with windows with Free software on them . Again these are personal choices best left to individuals.

Hamara infrastructure if you can give access to we can host OSM servers, Openstack etc.. aka Lab for people to play around with .

cheers
