change background color

I would like to change the background color to black instead of white. I am new to python,

Hi,

For now you'll have to edit the source code. In the about tab you can
find the iep source direcory. Then go to /path/to/iep/codeditor/base.py.
There you can edit the syntax styling. It should not be too hard if you
know a bit of Python. Still, I recommend making a backup.

At some point in the future we will probably have a more user-friendly
way to change the styles. But for now this will have to do...
