I just happened to be looking at the ZD article "8 tech companies that
came back from the dead: Then and now" and happened to see an IBM 1130 picture.

Does anyone know what those CRT units are the woman is sitting in front of?
(To me, they don't look like the "normal" ones you could get).
Didn't you need additional equipment to run those CRTs, anyway? I don't
see it in the picture. (The box behind the CPU doesn't look to be the right
IBM color for that box).

Also, there's another piece of equipment barely visible just above the top
of the leftmost CRT. Would anyone know what that might be?

Finally, the lights that are lit on the console don't look "normal", but it's
been many years (sigh, too many!) since I saw the display.

Any comments? Am I goofy? (I mean about the lights, not in general :-))

those don't look like the IBM 2250 CRTs which AFAIK were the only ones
they attached to 1130's. In fact it doesn't look like any sort of IBM
system, the controls and indicators are all wrong.

the rack looks non-IBM but its hard to say what it is.

The screens are not IBM, and definately not 2250s. Whether the 1130 had any connection to them is not clear in the picture.

The 1130 is in a stopped state (the green run light is off), and the lights just show the status of the machine when it stopped.

Also the paper-out light is on so, as the console has paper, it is probably the line printer that is out!

That's a stock photo entitled "Sandy McGee at the Laboratory Universal Control computerized lab controls using IBM equipment", credited to Pete Vazquez, dated January 1966 (http://www.corbisimages.com/stock-photo/rights-managed/42-27362906/computer-specialist-at-control-console).  The CRTs are labeled "Laboratory Universal Control Console", so this was almost certainly an advertising photo from Johnson Controls, which was a significant IBM customer for years.

Thank you! It never ceases to amaze me when I see the level of
expertise on this list. Not only were the responses really quick, but
more than one person responded, and with high-quality information, to boot!

You do realize, however, that I *have* to ask how you figured out the
provenance of this photo...?
