Migrating portletpreferences from WPS51. to WPS6.1

Hello,

Currently I am using WPS V 5.1.0.1.I am some JSR168 Portlets running on it and Data is stored in portlet Preferences.

Now I have to migrate all portlets to WPS 6.1. and Portlet Preferences data has to be retained.
I searched on internet but did not find any document or help.

Please provide some document or link if any one is having as it is urgent.

Thanks Jim for replying my query but i am facing the following issues..

I have gone through the link and able to transfer the database of from WPS 5.1.0.1 to MS-SQL 2005 using MS-SQL 2000 driver.

But now i am facing the following problems:
1) When webSphere portal is starting, it is giving the error :

I enabled the DTC as per the instructions in WPS 6.1 infocenter and it is started also.

But it is giving the wrong format error .
So My doubts is :
1)Whether I am following the correct approach of using MS SQL 2000 driver to connect to MS SQL 2005.
2) Is It possible to transfer the data to MS SQL 2005 from WPS 5.1?

3)My WAS is displaying the following error on starting :

My WAS is installed with embedded JMS.

Please help me in solving the above issues.

2005 ms sql server is not supported with portal 5.1, nor has it ever even been tested, I would first go to a supported version of a db

So I will transfer the WSP 5.1 data toMS SQL 2k and WPS 6.1 data to MS SQL 2k5.

Now My environment is :
1) WPS 5.1 on one computer having win XP SP2 and MS SQL 2k
2) WPS 6.1 on other computer having win XP SP2 and MS SQL 2k5

and both machines are in network.
I am facing following problems now :
1) during database migration of WPS 6.1, JCR database failed to transfer. It is giving error during transfer:

I am doing a new installation of Portal 6.1.0.1 and in the process of transferring the DBs to SQL 2k5 as well. I have successfully transferred all of them except for the JCR db and I am getting the same error. I have triple checked my wkplc*.properties files and the information for the JCR db is the same as it is for all of the other db instances.

Did you find a solution to this problem? If so, what was the issue and how did you resolve it?
