I followed the instructions updating the version of WAS 6.0.2.3 to WAS 6.0.2.15 to get around the Windows 259 URI limit for file paths.

When I tried to run step 10. "update -silent -W relaunch.active=false", the java directory was not created in the updateinstaller directory.

More importantly, when I tried to run step 11. "update -silent", I received the following error in the logs:

(Oct 24, 2006 9:51:00 PM), UpdateInstaller, com.ibm.ws.install.ni.ismp.actions.ISMPLogFileAction, msg1, Selected maintenance package: C:\Programs\IBM\WebSphere\ProcServer\updateinstaller\maintenance\6.0.2-WS-WAS-WinX32-FP00000015.pak

Running processes have been detected that may interfere with the current operation. Before installing or uninstalling maintenance, stop all WebSphere and related processes. Ensure the following processes are not running:

C:\Programs\IBM\WebSphere\ProcServer\java\bin\java.exe
C:\Programs\IBM\WebSphere\ProcServer\java\jre\bin\java.exe

(Oct 24, 2006 9:51:10 PM), UpdateInstaller, com.ibm.ws.install.ni.ismp.actions.ISMPLogSuccessMessageAction, msg1, INSTCONFFAILED

When I checked to see if any of the java processes were running through Task Manager, there was nothing running.

The next time I tried to run the install, it complains about a failed install of Fixpack 15, and gives me the options to uninstall it, which I do. And now I'm getting the following error:

I'm not sure how to get around this, as I can't uninstall the fixpack, nor can I go ahead.

Thanks for any help.
