When they run checks through, sometimes an error message comes up “GUI interface default program

stopped running.” This just happened at 2 different registers a few minutes apart, and what happens is the transaction goes through but the register freezes up on this error message afterwards. We then have to reboot the register several times for this message to clear so they can go about normal operations.

The only difference with this site that I know of is they are using the new CR2 printers.

If you run transactions on a TI-8 (or TI-4) printer, does the same
thing happen?

We don't know. This site has all new CR2 printers. We are going to take TI9's up there in the morning to see if the problem goes away.

The printers are the only thing we can think of that is different at this site compared to others. All of our other ECC sites are running TI4,8,or 9's
Thanks!
Joey

I would look at possibly an OS upgrade, or at the least a printer
firmware update. Just an idea, there are a few APAR's (Although
nothing exactly like you describing) related to issues with locking
up, and the 2CR.

There is a known problem fixed in 179 for printers where the event bits get used up. You can PMR it and they can analyze the dump.

We upgraded to 179 and we went to TI-9 printers and still have the issue. Any more ideas? This is RBS Certegy checks not Telecheck if that makes a difference. Still seems to happen randomly. Once in 24 transactions today.

So turn on the dump flag and get a dump to level II support.

The screen on the keyboard flashes approved then the app crashes so right between 3 and 4.

1. If the tender is set to non-aps, will it process correctly?
2. If you change the tender to not frank, does it complete w/o error?
3. What is the air speed velocity of an unlaiden swallow?
