Has anyone attempted to make one?
Having a way to fix broken blades, and resizing easily
available ones may be a useful thing.

I'm curious if anyone here has made one yet.

OOC... in addition to things like hacking a microwave
transformer and adding a machined jig, is there a way
to make a jig for a laser cutter/engraver, and writing
a program? (Or is that too low powered?)

The only one I have ever seen was a jig on the side of the particular
band saw. Lock the blade ends in, push the button, wait until cool,
remove, grind, install. The whole of the process was built into the tool.

If you are making one the jig is going to be critical. The ends have to
aligned straight or you get a useless blade. Not even half a degree off.

If operational, they work. The big bandsaw at the last place I worked
didn't have pre-made blades. You cut to length and welded from a roll
of saw blade.
