I am trying to create a panorama, shot from my balcony. The only reason for Hugin to behave abnormally I can think of is that I positioned the camera vertically (to gwt more picture in the shot). Other than that - everything is as usual.

And Hugin gives me some strange stretched projection like this:

A couple of things.
First, Hugin is suggesting you change to Equirectangular projection, that
may help, and can be done via the "projection" tab.
Second, go to the "Move/Drag" tab and you can drag your aligned pano to
the way you want it.
Select with right mouse -> rotate
Select with left mouse -> move

Let's know if this solves your problem.

Cheers,

Hi Tduell :-)

Unfortunately it didn't help - I can rotate the panorama (I didn't know I could do this), but now it doesn't fit on the canvas and I have no idea how to increase it's size.

In the Fast Panorama Preview, click on the Move/Drag tab, then on the "Center" button. Then adjust the sliders if needed. After, go to the Crop tab, click on "Autocrop" and again adjust with the sliders if needed (usually not)

Use the horizontal and vertical sliders at the RH and bottom edges of the
Fast Panorama preview window.
They should allow you to resize your pano.
When you have that sorted, go to the "Crop' tab and drag a crop boundary
from each edge to crop the pano as required.
In the "Stitcher" tab select "Calculate Optimal Size", then stitch.
Hope that fixes it for you.
There a few tutorials that might help if you are having trouble driving
Hugin.
Have a look here <http://hugin.sourceforge.net/tutorials/index.shtml>
Many of the tutorials are based on earlier versions but they should still
help you get the gist of the functionality.
