I'm working with the latest binary windows Snapshot on WinXP SP2, but I
had this with all previous versions.
My tifs are generated from jpgs with Photoshop, no compression used.
(Usually I work with jpgs and in case I need to mask parts out I open
them in Photoshop, add an alpha channel, edit it and save as tif. The
error occurs with alpha channel as well as without.)

No, there is nothing wrong with your images. If the warnings pop up
as a box, this is a bug. If they simply show up in the console
output, this is normal.

Photoshop writes some non-standard tags to the TIFF, that causes the
warnings.

I suspected something the like, that's why I mentioned the application.
So the bug is the way the warning is issued? OK, I will file this bug.
