skinuo s neta listu, pa idemo redom:

100. Gangs of New York (2002)
Scorsese+Day-Lewis=Movie Heaven!

99. Rolling Thunder (1977)
Balls out mayhem where the baddies are bad and the vengeance is just!

98. Man on Fire (2004)
Inflicting grave bodily harm on people who really deserve it. Just one
of our many fantasies! Most of us don’t want to do the jail time or get
killed, but we sure like to live vicariously through our heroes.

97. The Karate Kid (1984)
We love movies about bullies getting their just desserts. How else can
you explain films such as Never Back Down and the upcoming remake of
this very film?

96. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)
Dirty jokes, dirty jokes, and more dirty jokes!

95. Raging Bull (1980)
De Niro never showed better chops as an actor as he does in this
disturbing little journey.

94. The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Anthony Hopkins. He is amazing. Not so much in Red Dragon and Hannibal,
though.

93. Manhunter (1986)
William Petersen (CSI) jumping through a window to save a blind girl as
“Inna Gadda Da Vida” builds to a crescendo. Can’t get manlier than that!

92. Predator (1987)
Big guns, bloody action, and a tense, exciting showdown where Arnold has
clearly met his match!

91. Goldfinger (1964)
Pussy Galore.

90. The Patriot (2000)
For all his faults, Gibson is a great everyman actor. The action and the
rest of the supporting cast don’t hurt this film either.

89. John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982)
Spectacular effects from Roy Arbogast (Close Encounters of the Third
Kind) enhance director Carpenter’s use of slow-building terror (shades
of his own Halloween) to make for one of the best monster movies of all
time.

88. Grosse Pointe Blank (1997)
It’s a romantic comedy that we can sink our teeth into. Every guy
wonders where he will be ten years after high school. Grosse Pointe
Blank dramatizes this fantasy with plenty of action, humor, and romance.

87. Death Wish (1974)
The ultimate revenge drama.

86. Hard Times (1975)
Simpler times at a distance. We don’t want to go back there, but we sure
are fascinated by it!

85. An American Werewolf in London (1981)
It still packs a full-blooded wallop that few horror films today can
live up to. It’s hilarious. It’s raunchy. And it gives us a nice peak at
Jenny Agutter back in her heyday.

84. Halloween (1978)
Aside from getting to see P.J. Soles without a top, it also delivers
plenty of chills to bring us closer to our ladies!

83. Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001, 2002, 2003)
It isn’t nearly as lame as the freaky fanboys, who dressed up and waited
in line made it seem.

82. American Wedding (2003)
We can relate to every single one of these characters.

81. A Knight’s Tale (2001)
Lots of great humor and action, and a dastardly bad guy in Rufus Sewell
contribute to an exciting finale.

80. The Searchers (1956)
The Duke—meaner and tougher than ever!

79. Cinderella Man (2005)
Boxing movies done right are hard to resist. This one is.

78. Braveheart (1995)
Bravery is something that we equate with masculinity, and seeing it play
out so unflinchingly resonates with us.

77. Star Trek (2009)
Action, humor, and Zoe Saldana!!

76. The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)
It’s a sick and twisted fantasy that nevertheless compels us toward
revenge movies. Maybe it’s because we somehow associate capacity for
violence with masculinity.

75. There Will Be Blood (2007)
We’re deeper than you think. The moral dilemmas and faith-based
questions that the film tackles are the kind that keeps us up late at
night as we grow older.

74. Gladiator (2000)
Lots of testosterone in this one, what with the fighting and the
vengeance and all. It’s not anything new, but it sure does what it does
well.

73. Spider-Man (2002)
If we weren’t digging on Batman, we were fascinated by this Marvel
Comics counterpart. Thrilling to see him brought to life with such
competent cast, crew, and effects.

72. Midnight Run (1988)
Buddy movies are hard to beat, especially when the chemistry between the
two stars is clicking like it does here.

71. Cool Hand Luke (1967)
Every man gets tired of the bull. Every man dreams of cutting his own
path in life. Luke teaches us the ultimate lesson in existentialism.

70. Seven (1995)
It’s just a suspenseful gem of a movie with a great finish and even
better performances.

69. Last of the Mohicans (1992)
Great hand-to-hand combat sequences and a gripping finale make this one
of the better historical war films. Just make sure you avoid the boring
novel on which it is based!

68. Glory (1989)
There is a long debate that rages inside of us. Is it better to die a
hero or live a coward? This film addresses it. Also, how can you go
wrong with Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington in the same movie?

67. The Crow (1994)
Dark, moody, and horrific, The Crow combines the best elements of
horror, action, and revenge drama.

66. Reservoir Dogs (1992)
Madsen, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Chris Penn, Steve Buscemi, and the late
great Lawrence Tierney in a violent bloodbath of twists, turns, and
double crosses, written and directed by Tarantino. ‘Nuff said!

65. Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Most of us share a sense of duty to our country. Answering the moral
question that this movie presents is infectious.

64. Iron Man (2008)
A guy owns all kinds of cool stuff, gets any girl he wants without
commitment, fights the bad guys in a kickin’ suit, and gets to fly
around as a rocket man. Good luck finding a guy who doesn’t like this flick!

63. Kill Bill (2003)
Chicks kicking butt. Graphic violence. Homage to the Kung Fu,
Exploitation, and Spaghetti Western genres.

62. Leon: The Professional (1994)
The hard-hitting action scenes. The depth of the characters. The
pulse-pounding shootout at the end of the film. And the appeal this film
has to our fatherly instincts.

61. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
Are you kidding? Our childhood hero delving into impossibly ridiculous
stunts with the beautiful Kate Capshaw and gadget expert Short-Round at
his side! How could we not?

60. Army of Darkness (1992)
Campbell’s over the top machismo made him a cult hero and inspired a
number of video games and comic books. Too bad we never got Jason vs.
Freddy vs. Ash. That would have been awesome!

59. The Evil Dead (1981)
There is never a dull moment. It’s moody, atmospheric, and bloody.
Everything we want in our horror movies. It’s also a textbook example of
how to make a quality film on a shoestring budget.

58. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
Fun to learn more about Indy’s past, and exciting to see how the updated
special effects are able to handle an artifact of such tradition and
mystique. And the tank scene didn’t hurt it either!

57. Jaws (1975)
Robert Shaw and Roy Scheider steal the show with this one. We connect
with Scheider because he is forced to face his demons for the good of
all, the perfect ideology of the strong male. And Shaw’s Quint? Well, he
is just delightfully crazy.

56. The Hangover (2009)
Boys and their bachelor parties. And the closing credits—oh, the closing
credits!

55. Rambo (2008)
Oh, we’re sick. Blood and gore appeals to us. But in this movie,
watching it happen to the wrong people in such an unflinching
fashion—and knowing this is what really goes on over there—we like it
more for the retribution Rambo finally hands out in the last 30 minutes.

54. The Hurt Locker (2009)
It is, for the most part, an accurate depiction of military life and the
conflict in Iraq. That kind of thing fascinates us.

53. Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Pitt is hilarious. We also appreciate the performance of a man like
Christoph Waltz. And there is a certain degree of satisfaction to be had
with the way Tarantino changes history all together.

52. Return of the Jedi (1983)
Not for the Ewoks, I’ll tell you that much. In spite of its childish
elements, it does manage to draw our favorite space saga to a satisfying
close.

51. Star Wars (1977)
Who hasn’t dreamt of breaking free from the daily doldrums to a life of
untold adventure?

50. The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Great lightsaber action, Darth Vader at the top of his game, the
original cast kicking so much butt, and the big twist, which virtually
everyone now knows.

49. The Dark Knight (2008)
The best depiction of the Joker ever put on film. Period.

48. The Wrestler (2008)
The older we get, the more we can relate to the idea of controlling our
own destiny and having one last shot at glory.

47. The Goonies (1985)
The caves hiding the secret of a long forgotten treasure whisk any
youngster’s imagination into the kind of daydream that we all used to
have as youngsters (while we were supposed to be listening to the
teacher, of course).

46. Dawn of the Dead (1978)
Most of us like zombies and action, and there is plenty to go around in
this film.

45. The Untouchables (1987)
Costner and De Niro are two of the coolest male actors to grace the
Silver Screen. Watching them, along with Connery—who can possibly resist?

44. Die Hard (1988)
Bare-knuckled action, explosions, tension, violence, and unbelievable
stunt work, make this an action classic that still is able to thrill and
inspire.

43. Mad Max (1979)
Lots of guys dream about what it would be like to live in a lawless land
where any aggression could be acted upon without fear of consequences.
Meet the world of Mad Max!

42. Old School (2003)
Watching the main stars relive college fantasies long after they’re
supposed to be “grown up” appeals to our sense of wanting to go back to
a simpler time.

41. Armageddon (1998)
It touches on fatherhood, letting go, and the feeling we sometimes have
that the weight of the world is on our shoulders.

40. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
It set new standards in special effects and story that were arguably
untouched until 2007’s Transformers. It was also a lot better than any
other entry in the series.

39. True Lies (1994)
The action is incredible and still holds up.

38. Starship Troopers (1997)
Hard-edged sci-fi with beautiful women, a self-aware sense of humor and
great action scenes!

37. Robocop (1987)
An underlying message of what it means to be human and a biting satire
of consumerism in Reagan-Era America set this film apart from the blood,
guts, and non-stop action that started to become more prevalent in
Eighties Cinema. However, it does those other things very well, too!

36. No Country for Old Men (2007)
The Coen Brothers’ adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel recreates the
foreboding tension of its literary counterpart. The “what would you do
in this situation” element comes back again and again, giving us plenty
of food for thought to go along with our action.

35. Miller’s Crossing (1990)
For all of its bloody action and explosions, Miller’s Crossing is a
thinking man’s gangster film. Joel and Ethan Coen are experts at
bringing a time period to life, and their Prohibition America is immersing.

34. In the Line of Fire (1993)
Eastwood is still strong enough to be Eastwood. Malkovich is a
formidable adversary. The action is tight. It’s heavy on
characterization and the humor works.

33. Full Metal Jacket (1987)
Full Metal Jacket captures the horror and hell of war, as well as the
camaraderie between soldiers, better than any other war film.

32. Transformers (2007)
Most of us have fond memories of the Eighties cartoon and this entry
from Michael Bay made vast improvements over the things we already loved.

31. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Action, romance, intrigue and surprises! Also, don’t discount the
Judeo-Christian theme that fascinated western audiences and made the
religious elements more accessible.

30. Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
Eddie Murphy used to be funny. We recognize this. And a lot of that
funny came in this movie.

29. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
Silly, brainless, unfettered, completely self-aware and
unapologetic—what’s not to like?

28. Carlito’s Way (1993)
If you don’t know by now that well-made gangster films are one of our
many weaknesses, then you don’t know us at all.

27. Lethal Weapon (1987)
Explosions, one liners, camaraderie—all the things we like in our cop
movies and friendships.

26. Tombstone (1993)
Equal parts shootout and one-liners.

25. Casino Royale (2006)
James Bond returned to us after having been gone for so, very, long.

24. Pulp Fiction (1994)
Violence and redemption. Stick those two elements in any well-made film
and we lap it up like dogs.

23. Blazing Saddles (1974)
Almost every line of this film drips with irreverence for the
politically correct norms that still have a chokehold on us today. The
film exploits the stupidity of racism by setting it down in front of a
mirror and using its own words against it. That’s funny.

22. Office Space (1999)
Sometimes it takes an audience a while to get a joke. Such was the case
with Mike Judge’s film. It didn’t tear up the box office but found new
life and enormous success in the years ahead as more of his demographic
entered the workforce and found, to their utter and complete horror,
that most of the “exaggerations” were undeniably true.

21. Batman Begins (2005)
The Caped Crusader was a hero of our youth. This is a great film based
on him. Do we need any more than that?

20. The Cowboys (1972)
John Wayne by this time was your rugged grandfather, who may be old, but
he could still take you to the woodshed if you needed it. He is both
abrasive and approachable, and there is something about him you can’t
help loving. We also dig the great ending.

19. Once Upon a Time in the West (1969)
Quentin Tarantino idolized director Sergio Leone for this film in
particular, even shooting a new trailer for the special edition DVD. The
coolness of both protagonist and antagonist makes this one not to miss!

18. The Departed (2006)
What guy hasn’t ever wanted to play hardcore cops and robbers? It’s why
Grand Theft Auto is such a successful franchise of video games, and it’s
why this Martin Scorsese film is among the maestro’s best.

17. The Shining (1980)
Aside from Nicholson’s performance, men dig what the movie has to say
about routines and commitments, and how they can sometimes drive you a
little crazy.

16. Backdraft (1991)
Brothers share a close bond that few people who have never experienced
it ever could. Backdraft captures this connection perfectly. That, and
how can you not appreciate a cast that includes Kurt Russell, William
Baldwin, Scott Glenn, Robert De Niro, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Rebecca
DeMornay, and the late great J.T. Walsh?

15. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966)
A massive Western like The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly appeals to any
man who had a thing for showdowns, independence, and mano-y-mano violence.

14. The Godfather (1972)
There is something very empowering about using force to get what you
want. Don Vito Corleone makes a career of it, tempered with a passionate
love for his children.

13. L.A. Confidential (1997)
The action is gritty. The stars are compelling. The characters are well
drawn from the psyche of men everywhere.

12. Alien (1979)
It’s moody, claustrophobic, atmospheric and scary. After all these
years, movies such as Pandorum and Event Horizon are trying to replicate
its effects.

11. Aliens (1986)
Action, action, and more action! Plus, it never hurts to see a woman
kick a little backside.

10. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)
Of the original series films, Wrath of Khan is really the only one that
resembled early Star Wars. Bigger on action, less on philosophical mumbo
jumbo, but still enough meat there for human thought. It’s a top notch
sci-fi epic and one of the best of its kind.

9. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
We have a fascination with life on the inside. We are also drawn to
stories of hope and overcoming oppression.

8. Heat (1995)
Two great actors, shining examples of the tough-as-nails American man
going after each other while still at the top of their games. Forget
that god-awful follow-up Righteous Kill.

7. Goodfellas (1990)
The mob violence and brutality was taken to a new level with Goodfellas,
and it’s our grim fascination with this side of life that keeps us
coming back for more.

6. Once Upon a Time in America (1984)
Something about shocking mob violence keeps us glued to the tube for
hours. In this case, expect to give up nearly four hours of your life,
but it is completely worth it.

5. The Godfather Part II (1974)
Every guy feels like they have a little Michael in them: cold, callused,
ready for business. Guys dig The Godfather Part II because it safely
represents the lengths to which we think we’ll go to.

4. Taxi Driver (1976)
An expertly crafted gunfight, shocking violence (even by today’s
standards), and the desire to make a difference in the world that men
often feel.

3. Dirty Harry (1971)
One man against the System playing by his own rules. Pass me a beer!

2. For A Few Dollars More (1965)
Both men are representative of different aspects in the male psyche.
Monco demonstrates our desire to get ahead. Mortimer represents our
protective natures. We like to think we have no limits when it comes to
making others pay for doing harm to the ones we love.

1. Rocky (1976)
That feeling that it’s us against the world is particularly appealing
about this film. It’s an ideal of the American Dream as perceived
through 200 pounds of Macho.

eto ... nadam se da ce nekome koristiti. Ugodno gledanje.

settingu besmislene.

WHAT THE FUCK)

da jebote, pogledao ga sasvim slučajno
zatim više puta, zanimljiv film, na prvu ništa posebno
no nekako se uvuče po kožu

"on my finger scale I would give her 3"
"that mens I would cut off my three fingers if God let me fuck her"

The Goonies??? Mislim, prva dva jos mogu proci kod adolescentske publike,
ali ovaj zadnji bi prije trebao ici u kategoriju filmova koje svaki djecak
treba pogledat prije nego udje u pubertet.

djetinjasto.

E da, na listi su zaboravili...:

127 Hours (2010)
A story about what happens to idiots who think they're immortal superheroes.

(bar nikad nisam u novinama procitao "desetogodisnji muskarac")
