The Hawaii Library Association is having there conference at the Disney Aulani resort next week friday/saturday (nov 8/9)
There will be two talks about makerspaces & libraries. One from some good folks at the Detroit free library about their experience and reports from others on the mainland... and the second from yours truly about the makerspaces here in Hawaii.
After my talk on saturday afternoon, we are going to have a couple tables on which we can setup a variety of Maker exhibits to show off during their closing reception (4-530). I need some help from Oahu based makers 'cause I cant bring it all with me.
Specifically, I can bring in 3-5 non-conference attendees (hotel charging conference $65/head for dinner) who have some projects to share and/or want to connect with local library folks. If anyone has a 3d printer that could be running, or at least there to show w/parts made, that would be awesome. Other desktop manufacturing tools and things a library might want to put in (programming, microelectronics, etc) are also desired. Does anyone there have an Eggbot or Silhouette vinyl cutter?
Please get in touch with me asap if you can help out!
It would be really cool to get some library in our state to put in a makerspace setup.
Thanks!
