USA Elite Womens Selection and Tryouts

Hello Ladies,

The official tryout and selection process for 2018 worlds Team USA Elite Women has been announced.  Here are the main points:

Worlds:

The World Championships will be held in Quebec City, QC, Canada in July, 2018.

Eligibility:

All USA female hockey players are eligible, regardless of age.  You must be a USA citizen or have residency status in the USA for at least 12 of the 18 months immediately prior to worlds, and you must be in current good standing with USOA (dues paid and signed waiver on file). If you have citizenship in more than one country, you must choose which to represent at Worlds (i.e. you cannot play for two countries at the same World Championships) If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact us as soon as possible for clarification.

Selection Process:

Selection of players for the travel team will be done by a 4-person selection committee and will be completed by July, 2017 (one year prior to worlds).

Official Tryouts:

We will be holding 2 official tryout events (dates and locations listed below).  The selection committee strongly encourages all interested players to attend these events.  Tryouts will involve game-play/scrimmage and may also include tests for specific skills and/or fitness, at the discretion of the selection committee.

Tryout # 1:  Menlo Park (San Francisco), CA, April 1-2, 2017.  Exact pool time may be adjusted depending on expected attendance, but plan on roughly 10am Saturday through 4pm Sunday.  This will be a shared event with the Junior Girls team, and the Juniors may also have pool time on the Thursday and/or Friday immediately prior to the weekend.  Thursday and Friday are not officially part of the Elite Team tryout, but Elite candidates will be welcome to attend if they so choose. We will announce the Thursday/Friday schedule as soon as it is confirmed.

Tryout # 2: Thornton (Denver), CO, May 27-28, 2017. Exact pool time may be adjusted depending on expected attendance, but plan on roughly 9am Saturday through 4pm Sunday.
