A rubber toe bumper cuts keeps stubbed toes to a minimum by reducing the impact of rocks and roots. Weighing roughly 3 pounds 3 ounces per pair, the Men's Croda GTX offers complete underfoot protection and stability from rocky and rooted terrain. Extremely Happy With The Croda!

I recently purchased the Garmont Croda hiking boots to replace the Vasque Summit GTX boots that I've been hiking with since early last year. I like the way my Vasque boots are broken in but the Vibram sole does not grip very well on damp mountain stone that we have in plentiful supply in the mountains of E. Tennessee so I'm in the process of getting them resoled with a Vibram sole with hopefully more gripping power than the original Vibram soles. In the meantime I went looking for a replacement pair of boots to hike in and I found an excellent online closeout deal with the Garmont Croda. I had heard that the Italian designed boots ran a little small for the average foot but with the Croda I ordered the same size as my Vasque boots which was an 11.5M. This has so far worked out great. They feel like they hug my ankles and my foot doesn't slide as much as they do with the Vasque boots. They also seem to have better gripping power with their Vibram soles than do the Vasque Summit
GTX pair. The Croda's have the full Goretex lining so I expect them to be as waterproof as my Vasque boots. I would also say that they are considerably lighter than the Summit GTX boots are. In fact I like these so much I went ahead and ordered another pair of Croda's for a replacement pair for when these soles wear out! The only problem I've had is getting Garmont USA to respond to my email that I sent them about one month ago asking for their recommendation as to the type of sealant that I should use on these boots since the exterior is mainly a suede leather instead of the smooth cowhide I have on the Vasque pair.
