Trail ready to go right out of the box.

Awesome shoes. I have hiking boots and was looking for a lighter, summer hiking shoe that was durable and waterproof. I usually wear a size 8, but that was way too big so I sent back and got a 7.5. This is a very sturdy shoe. Last week I put 45 miles on them right out of the box. No blisters, fit comfortable, supported me well, held up to the rugged terrain. Helped me step firmly and with out slipping on wet rocks. Easy off and on. I am hoping the bungee lacing system will hold up. So far, so good.
I have always purchased Adidas soccer boots and am really satisfied with these outdoor shoes.

Great for Hiking

I had a pair of trail shoes from Adidas as a gift from a friend. I loved the shoes but wore them out from use. I went to look for a replacement pair, and the style I had was no longer made. These shoes were a bit more hiking shoe and a bit less running shoe, with a sturdier sole but without the extra weight of a hiking boot. Those were features I wanted. The one thing these don't have that I wanted is a kick plate in the heel - an extra tab of sole that sticks out from the heel that reduces gravel getting inside the shoes.
When I wore them the first time, they weren't really comfortable - the arch seemed high, which seems to be a common characteristic of Adidas shoes I've had. But after the first day, they feel and fit very well and have done a great job for hiking. They are a little slippery on ice or snow, but not more so than other shoes - I just need to remember to wear my trax when winter hits the Rockies.
I also like that they are effectively
slip-on shoes, but I don't have to worry about them sliding off my feet when I'm climbing steep trails.
I'm pleased with the performance of these shoes and have had positive comments on the style.
Update to review 4/19/14:
The high arch is at times a big problem in these shoes - I've never had a pair of shoes before aside from Adidas where I actually get blisters on my arches because of the painfully mis-placed and too-high/too-angular arch. The shoes are nice and roomy in the toe box, and I still love the idea of these shoes. My feet slip inside them a bit as they run a tad large. The arch problem is bad enough that although I've put probably 100 intensive hiking miles on them and some regular wear as well and they show no wear at all, I've had to look for a different style shoe to avoid the blisters - ouch!

Very well made

Very good quality shoes. I've had them for almost a year now and have worn them about everyday and they are still in good shape. They are very comfortable and fit my feet perfectly. Very nice to hike in with a very strong grip. I wore them for my hike through Yosemite going from the valley up to half dome then to clouds rest and then on to Tenaya lake with absolutely no problems with these shoes. Love them!
