Great boots at a good price

I purchased these boots for a caving trip with friends. They arrive quickly and fit true to the size. They are a little stiff at first and if you aren't used to wearing boots that go over the ankles then I would recommend getting them a few weeks ahead of time and walking around in them to break them in. I definitely got some wicked blisters on my first few walks. I am a runner but had never done much hiking. While they are a lot heavier than running shoes they were surprisingly comfortable and provided a lot of support - I didn't even add any additional insoles...
I took these on a trip and thought they provided good traction. They were also pretty waterproof for not billing advertised that way. We spent probably 6-7 minutes walking through water and my feet stayed nice and dry. Now that I am back from the trip I often use them in place of my rain boots because they are definitely puddle proof. I imagine they will make nice boots in the winter as they have
pretty good grips on the bottom so I imagine they will provide support on icy roads.

Best Hiking Boot EVER!

My two pre-teen daughters & I wore these boots (& my husband the men's version of this boot) while hiking in Peru on the Inca Trail 3 nights/4 days to Machu Picchu. Of the 4 days on the trail, 3 of them were POURING RAIN. We tromped through mud & puddles 8-10 hours a day in these boots. Never once did any of us end the day with wet or even damp feet. total life saver as the climate was quite cold so having dry feet throughout the trek was fantastic. Great traction. I agree with other reviewers about a little bit of stiffness in the high ankle, but we broke ours in several weeks before our trek. Having the high ankle on the very rough & unstable terrain we trekked over offered excellent support. we also loved the light-weightiness to them. True to size as well. Overall an INCREDIBLE boot! Highly recommend it, especially if you will encounter water/rain. Bravo Columbia for creating this boot!
