Vasque Women's Sundowner GTX Hiking Boot, Brown

Have happily worn Vasque Sundowners for decades until they started manufacturing them in China (and charging the same high prices). They fit poorly and are no longer comfortable. The Italian made ones lasted for years. I have serious doubts about the durability of these Chinese made ones. Sent these back and bought Hi-Tec brand which fit like a glove, were comfortable right out of the box, have a Vibram sole and, after about 18 months of heavy wear, seem very durable.

Too bad they cheaped out

I too hiked all over the Blue Ridge, the southwest, Europe and Central America in these boots. Sadly, after 17 years they died, and when I went to purchase a new pair they changed the design and went cheap on the materials, they're now made in China. Way to ruin a perfect boot.

grommits dig in OUCH

I have worn these boots twice. The padded tongue is not wide enough and both upper grommits dig into my ankles. Too late to return as my first hike was a long one and so they are very used. I will have to figure out a way to pad them out from the inside as they are not cheap and I am not ready to dump them. They are otherwise confortable but the grommits are PAINFUL so I would give a zero if I could.
