Thirty miles in a week in the Sierras
By Lynn
I was only able to "break in" my new boots by wearing them around the house before we hit the trail in the eastern Sierras last week. We did six hikes in 7 days, totaling right around 30 miles. This includes hikes on icy/muddy/snowy trails. The verdict: these are great boots! No hot spots or blisters, great ankle support, good grip, and my feet stayed warm and dry. The lacing system means you can make a lot of adjustments to both the total foot volume and the tightness around the ankles.
I should mention that I have terrible feet, with a semi-dormant Morton's neuroma on one foot and twingy tendons on my left foot and ankle. And my feet are really wide, which made the wide size available in the shoe a real treat. Any shoe that let's me hike in comfort is the real deal.
My only caveat is a warning that Vasque boots tend to run small... I normally wear a 9, but to accommodate lightweight hiking socks I ordered a 9.5 W and they fit perfectly.

Fit well
By Jenny O.
I am normally a size 8 (can even fit in a 7.5 at times) and I'm glad I went to REI to try these boots on - I ended up needing an 8.5. I have a wide foot (not super wide, but wider than average) and these fit great. There was plenty of room and the laces and eyelets really allowed you adjust the boot as needed.
I had tried on a lot of boots at REI and I narrowed it down to these and the Salomon Comet 3D. I bought both boots and wore them both around the house for a few weeks. They both fit realtively good with a few minor differences. I ended up going with the Salomon, but if I had never worn the Salomon, I would have definitely went with these - it was a hard choice. I don't think you can go wrong with these boots, although of course I never wore them on the trail. Hope this gives some insight for someone!

Hiking boot
By slm
These were delivered in a timely manner and tried on. These are actually for my daughter and an upcoming hiking trip and she read that they tend to run a bit small so we bought them 1/2 size larger and they fit well - you could, depending on what type of sock you will be wearing with them, go up 1 full size. They have not been used yet for hiking, but have a comfortable feel.
